We are going to the weight room!!

After announcements......

Cinema of the 60s    continued..........

Please write down all notes!

The spaghetti westerns (made in Italy and Spain), were typified by Clint Eastwood films, such as The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966)

Science-fiction and fantasy films used more and more special effects, such as:
- animated aliens / mythical creatures
- elaborate sets to simulate alien worlds and environments with zero gravity
Example : 2001, A Space Odyssey (1966)

Animated television (Saturday Morning cartoons!) became more popular.

Examples : Scooby - Doo, The Jetsons, The Flinstones

vs.

Animated movies (Disney!) Examples: 101 Dalmations, The Jungle Book, The Sword in the Stone

But television had to be quickly produced so.... it was cheaply made.

"Limited animation" = reused drawings and simplified actions. The dialogue moves the story forward rather than the action.

Example: The Flinstones

vs.

"Traditional animation" = unique sequence of drawings for each different action.

Example: The Jungle Book

And now... we get to watch The Pink Panther !!  What kind of animation is used ??
